Happy Thanksgiving from the Tabletop Team

It seems quite appropriate that November is the time of year that we find ourselves “giving thanks.” Thanksgiving feasts often start with family and friends gathered around a table sharing what they are most thankful for that year. Being thankful may have different meaning to each of us. We often express our thankfulness in different ways, which leads me to the question, what does it mean to be thankful? Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines thankful as:

  • Conscious of benefit received

  • Expressive of thanks (gratitude)

  • Well pleased

As we near the end of the calendar year, it feels natural to look back at the year that has almost passed and reflect. This precursor to the end of one year and the beginning of another is the perfect time to examine how our friends, families and communities have supported us through many triumphs and challenges. Our expressions of gratitude come in many forms, but a heartfelt, “Thank you” will do in most instances. Our Tabletop Team is thankful for the opportunity to work with amazing clients who are part of our food, beverage, agriculture, hospitality and lifestyle communities here in North Carolina and beyond. We are grateful to be working to support small businesses in the communities we call home.

In the spirit of this season of thanks, several of our Tabletop Team members have shared what they are most thankful for today.

Quinn Carlton, Social Media Manager

“I am forever thankful for my parents. Without them I would quite literally not be here. They are incredibly selfless and are always willing to lend a helping hand when I need it. Living in Raleigh, I find myself missing them so much as Thanksgiving draws near so when I head home and get to spend it with them and the rest of my family, I am my happiest.”

Zayne Taber, Business Developer

“I am thankful for my family and friends. I have been so blessed to have such great people in my life to share so many different experiences and love with throughout the years. And I am dearly thankful to have met my soon to be wife. She makes me better than I am. Not only is she my friend and partner but also my favorite business partner. I'm a lucky guy on so many levels.”

Kristen Baughman, Founder

“This Thanksgiving holiday I am especially thankful for my fiancé Zayne. I always associate him with the Thanksgiving holiday because that is "his holiday." His family throws a big Thanksgiving potluck in Florida and this year will be my third time attending. One year they had 105 people!

Not only is Zayne my best friend, but he's an amazing business partner. Together we work so well together to achieve business goals and personal growth. We also have a lot of fun traveling the world, going on random adventures and just hanging out on our farm. We will be getting married in April 2019 in Italy and I couldn't be more excited! I'm so thankful to have found my person and to be so happy in love.”

Stacey Sprenz, Photographer

“I’m thankful for the gift of time. When I look back at the many memories—the time I have enjoyed with my family and my friends—I can’t help but feel thankful. Time is a precious commodity, and I am grateful to have spent so much of it with the people I love.”
