A Place at the Table is excited to announce their 501(c)(3) nonprofit pay-what-you-can cafe has secured a permanent location, the former Café de los Muertos Space in downtown Raleigh, NC. This new restaurant is expected to begin renovations soon and will open in the fall of 2017. A Place at the Table will be located at 300 W Hargett Street, Raleigh, NC 27601.

A Place at the Table will offer a laid-back, coffee shop atmosphere with an extensive menu. The new location will serve waffles, a variety of toasts and sandwiches, and creative coffee drinks.  All food and beverages will be pay-what-you-can.

The pay-what-you-can cafe model was made world-famous by the One World Every Body Eats Foundation and there are currently more than 60 of these unique cafes operating in the United States. The model allows patrons to pay for their meal in one of five ways: to pay what they can afford, to pay a suggested donation, to pay what they would typically pay plus a donation, to pay specifically for someone else’s full meal, or to pay by volunteering.

A Place at the Table is thankful for Northpond Partners and York Properties for helping to secure the permanent location. The nonprofit is excited to open this fall. More information will be released regarding the grand opening date.
