Postino Wine Cafe: Expanding into North Carolina

OVERVIEW

In summer 2024, Postino Wine Cafe, a nationally recognized wine café brand, opened its first North Carolina location in Raleigh’s Village District. With a goal of introducing the brand to a new market while creating excitement around its grand opening, Postino partnered with Tabletop Media Group to strategically manage public relations, media outreach, and community engagement efforts.

Plan of action

Our team designed a three-month campaign (May-July 2024) to build awareness and ensure Postino’s entry into the Triangle market was a success. Efforts included:

  • Media Relations 

    • Targeted outreach to local, regional, and national outlets covering food, beverage, lifestyle, and business.

  • Press Materials 

    • Development of press releases and media kits tailored to Raleigh’s food and hospitality industry.

  • Influencer & Community Engagement 

    • Assembled and hand-delivered more than 50 curated swag bags to local influencers, encouraging real-time unboxing on Instagram stories.

    • Coordinated a “first look” feature with Raleigh Magazine, complete with an exclusive photoshoot to generate early buzz on social media.

Community & Press Events 

  • Organized a two-day soft opening that welcomed press, local business owners, nonprofit organizations, and Raleigh city officials, creating goodwill and lasting community connections.

  • Grand Opening Support 

    • On-site public relations support during opening week to maximize coverage and manage media relationships.

Results

Our campaign produced strong results, positioning Postino Wine Cafe as a highly anticipated addition to Raleigh’s dining scene.
